Former Illinois offensive lineman Kendrick Green will miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season after a successful surgery Thursday morning to repair a meniscus tear.
Green suffered this injury in the Texans’ dominant win over his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday afternoon.
According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport the rest of Green’s knee remains intact with no issues:
#Texans G Kendrick Green underwent successful surgery to repair his meniscus, source said, knocking him out the rest of the season. Green really impressed in his short stint in Houston and should be ready for a full offseason. The rest of the knee was intact with no issues.

Green was selected in the 3rd round of the 2021 NFL draft by the Steelers, but played sparingly following his rookie campaign. He was later traded to Houston for a 6th round pick and found solid work as their left guard before suffering the injury Sunday.
