Roberts heads to Coral Gables, Florida after 5 seasons with the Hawkeyes. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for the shortened 2020 season allows him to be a sixth-year redshirt super senior in 2023.
In 2018, Roberts did not see game action and took a redshirt for the season. Over the next 4 seasons, he played in 33 games.
Roberts saw his most game action in the 2019 campaign. He played in 12 games, recording 11 tackles. The next year, he logged 9 stops over 8 games.
In 2021, Roberts posted career-highs in tackles (14) and passes defended (4) while playing in 8 games. This past season, Roberts saw playing time in 5 games, logging 13 tackles and 3 passes defended. He had 1 interception each of the past 2 seasons.
