Yannick Ngakoue had been in a holdout with the Jacksonville Jaguars this preseason, but he ended the holdout by reporting on Sunday morning.

The former Maryland standout has been an impact player for Jacksonville’s defense since 2016. He has 29.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and 70 QB hits in three seasons with the Jaguars.

According to Josh Alper with Pro Football Talk, Ngakoue needed to report to the Jaguars prior to Tuesday in order to accrue a season of service time. Failure to do so would have impacted his free agency status at the end of this season.

Instead of continuing his holdout, Ngakoue went ahead and reported on Sunday without a new contract in place. The Jaguars tweeted out a video of Ngakoue reporting:

Ngakoue finished his Maryland career 83 tackles, 32 TFL, and 21 sacks.
