Former Michigan DB Lavert Hill signs with NFL team after All-XFL season

Former Michigan DB Lavert Hill is back in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signing of Hill on Monday.
Hill was most recently with the XFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks.

Hill played at Michigan from 2016-to-2019. He was a 3-year starter and 3-time All-Big Ten selection. Hill logged 57 tackles, including 7 for loss, and a fumble recovery as a Wolverine defender. In pass coverage, Hill recorded 29 pass breakups, which ranks sixth all-time in school history, and 6 interceptions.
In 2020, Hill joined the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. He has also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns. Hill has yet to play in an NFL regular-season game.
Hill earned All-XFL honors for his strong showing in the 2023 spring season. He recorded 25 tackles and 2 interceptions in 10 games with the Battlehawks.
