Former Michigan RB Hassan Haskins was reportedly arrested recently on a charge of felony aggravated assault. The arrest stems from altercations with his girlfriend.

According to police records obtained by Wayne Steen with Scoop Nashville, Haskins was arrested Thursday on a felony aggravated assault/strangulation charge after allegedly strangling his girlfriend Makiah Green. In a different argument, Haskins allegedly kicked through a door in their home and cocked a handgun.

Green reportedly ripped a $5,000 chain from Haskins’ neck in the altercation and threatened to slash his tires. Green was also arrested and charged with 2 counts of felony aggravated assault/strangulation and felony vandalism.

According to Steen’s report, the string of incidents began on June 22 when Haskins observed his girlfriend “like” an Instagram photo of another man. An argument ensued with Green throwing Haskins’ shoes on the floor and Haskins demanding she stop.

Haskins allegedly pushed her when she didn’t stop which resulted in an injury to the back of Green’s head. Green alleges Haskins then tossed her onto the bed and strangled her for approximately 10-15 seconds. After he let Green go, another fight ensued before she alleges being strangled a second time with Haskins eventually fleeing the house.

The second altercation reportedly started on June 29 at Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina. After a meal between the two ended abruptly, another fight took place at their residence.

During that altercation from Thursday, Haskins allegedly shattered Green’s phone. She reportedly retrieved one of Haskins’ old phones to call for help to find “a barrage of naked women and chats with them” from Snapchat.

Green allegedly retrieved a knife while threatening to slash Haskins’ tires. Haskins also alleged in an interview with police that Green attacked him with a broom, strangled him from behind, threw his PS5 from upstairs and put a hole in a wall.

According to the report, both Green and Haskins are currently free on bail.
