Former Michigan standout Rashan Gary lands massive new deal with Packers

Former Michigan standout Rashan Gary is getting paid to stay in Green Bay.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Gary and the Packers have agreed to a new extension that will pay the impact defender handsomely. Rapoport reports that the 4-year deal includes $96 million in new money, with Gary receiving more than $107 million total. Gary will pocket a bonus of over $34 million upon signing.

Gary played for Michigan from 2016-to-2018, earning first-team All-Big Ten recognition in each of his last 2 seasons. The Packers selected Gary with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
In his first 2 seasons, Gary started just 4 games. He started every game he played in 2021 and ’22.
In his career, Gary has recorded 89 solo tackles and 27 sacks with 3 forced fumbles over 63 games. In 2023, he has already logged 4.5 sacks in 7 games.
