Hunt heads to Houston after 4 seasons with the Spartans. Out of Belleville (Michigan), Hunt was a 3-star prospect with 21 scholarship offers.
Hunt redshirted in 2019, his first season at MSU. He was a 3-year letterwinner from 2020-22, making appearances.
In 2020, Hunt saw action in 5 games, including a start at defensive tackle, missing the final 2 due to injury. He recorded 5 tackles, including 4 solo stops and 2 tackles for loss.
Hunt logged double-digit appearances in the 2021 season. He started the Northwestern game, recording 5 tackles over 178 snaps at defensive tackle. For the season, he finished with 5 tackles (3 solo).
This past season, Hunt played in 7 games, including 3 starts. His starts came against Indiana (3 tackles, 21 snaps), Rutgers (4 tackles, 49 snaps) and Illinois (1 tackle, 53 snaps). Hunt finished the year with 9 tackles (5 solo).
Hunt has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining due to the 2020 season not counting, which MSU considered his redshirt freshman year.
