Michael Fletcher entered the transfer portal on Dec. 3, leaving Michigan State. Fletcher has now found a new home in the Sun Belt conference.

Fletcher is heading to Boone, North Carolina to play for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. Fletcher was a former 3-star edge rusher from the 2019 class per the 247Sports Composite.

The Spartans finished the regular season with a disappointing 5-7 record after having an 11-win season a year ago.

Fletcher played in 17 games as a Spartan. The former Michigan State defender recorded 31 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 2 pass deflections from his time in East Lansing.

The Flint, Michigan native comes in at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds of pure muscle. Fletcher should wreak havoc on the offensive lines of the opposing team.

The Mountaineers finished the regular season with a 6-6 record. College football fans might remember the near upset of North Carolina earlier in the season. Appalachian State also upset Texas A&M in College Station on Sept. 10 this year.
