Former Michigan State guard announces transfer destination

Former Michigan State guard Foster Loyer has announced his next destination.
Via Twitter, Loyer announced that he has committed to Davidson to continue his college basketball career. He entered the NCAA transfer portal following the 2020-21 college basketball season. Loyer will have two years of eligibility to use.
Loyer’s decision comes less than a month after entering his name into the portal. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.3 assists per game while logging 16.6 minutes for the Spartans. The team finished with a 15-13 record an reached the NCAA Tournament, earning a spot in the play-in game.

This offseason, multiple Michigan State basketball players entered their name into the portal. Four Spartans from last year’s squad explored their options and three have already found new homes. Thomas Kithier is heading to Valparaiso, Jack Hoiberg will play at Texas-Arlington and Loyer is off to Davidson. Rocket Watts is still undecided.
In addition to the transfer player, Michigan State has also lost Aaron Henry to the NBA Draft and Joshua Langford who retired from basketball.
