Wednesday, Hoiberg announced that he will be continuing his college career at the University of Texas-Arlington. He makes the decision after spending the past four seasons at Michigan State. Redshirting his first season (2017-18) and with the NCAA’s blanket waiver for winter student-athletes, Hoiberg will still have two years of eligibility to utilize at Texas-Arlington.
During his time in East Lansing, Hoiberg appeared in 41 career games with 1 start. He scored a total of 36 points, dished out 20 assists, collected 8 rebounds and had 3 steals. His lone start at MSU came during a game against Nebraska, which his father, Fred Hoiberg, coaches.
Michigan State ended the 2020-21 season with a 15-13 record.
