Former Michigan State linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle has been arrested in Lubbock County, Texas, according to reports.
The former Spartan, who now plays for Texas Tech, was arrested for “evading in a watercraft” according to Adam D. Young of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
According to Young’s report, Bouyer-Randle was booked into Lubbock County Detention Center about 8:30 a.m. Sunday on a felony charge. Not much else is known about the incident.
Bouyer-Randle transferred out of East Lansing in December of 2019. He only played in two games in 2019, totaling just five tackles. He was a much bigger part of the Spartan defense in 2018 as he made 21 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and four sacks in that campaign.
Texas Tech released a statement following his arrest:
“We are aware of an incident that occurred earlier this morning involving a member of our football program. At this time, we are continuing to gather facts regarding the matter and will handle any discipline consistent with the Texas Tech student-athlete code of conduct.”
So far this season with the Red Raiders, he has 31 total tackles and one sack.
