Former Michigan State second-round pick cut by Seahawks

Former Seahawks second-round pick Malik McDowell was cut Thursday, the team announced.
McDowell was drafted by Seattle with the 35th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he’s already out of work. In fact, he never played a down in the NFL. He was seriously injured in an ATV accident last summer just prior to the start of training camp and didn’t play as a rookie.
The Seahawks paid McDowell a $3.19 million signing bonus, and the team signed him to a four-year $6.95 million contract.
The former freshman All-American had a nice career with the Spartans, and he left after his junior year for the NFL Draft.
It’s unclear whether McDowell is healthy enough to play football again.
