Former Michigan State hoops star Delvon Roe has landed a new job as a head basketball coach.

Roe made the announcement on Friday that he has accepted the head boys basketball coach position at St. Genevieve High School in Panorama City, California:

“I have accepted the head coaching position at St. Genevieve HS,” wrote Roe on Twitter. “The goal will always be to get these boys into college. I can’t wait to meet everyone in our community! We will play an exciting but discipline brand of basketball. It’s an honor to be a Valiant!”

Roe was a three-year player for Tom Izzo and the Spartans, appearing in 109 career games (84 starts). A 6-foot-8 forward, Roe averaged 6.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and a block while shooting 53% from the floor.

Roe was a part of back-to-back Final Four teams during his time in East Lansing, including as a freshman on the 2008-09 team that lost to North Carolina in the National Final.

Unfortunately, injuries forced Roe to give up basketball as he went on to pursue a career in acting. It is great to see him move into a coaching role and have an opportunity to make an impact on the next generation of players.

Best of luck to Roe as he continues his career!
