A former Michigan State football star and current NFL safety finds himself in some legal trouble, according to reports.
On Tuesday, Montae Nicholson was arrested in Virginia in the early morning on charges of assault and battery. According to a report from the Loudoun Times-Mirror, Nicholson and a woman named Sydney Maggiore assaulted another man and woman.
An altercation ensued after Nicholson and Maggiore honked their car horn at the other two. Nicholson is accused of assaulting the man and Maggiore allegedly assaulted both the man and the woman. Maggiore reportedly also hit the woman with a bottle.
Nicholson also faces a public intoxication charge. He was released on $2,500 bond.
Nicholson is a former star defensive back at Michigan State and was a member of the secondary from 2014-2016. He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The safety has appeared in every game for the Redskins this season.
