Former Michigan State WR Jayden Reed has reportedly inked his first NFL contract.

David Canter — Reed’s agent with GSE Worldwide — announced congratulations for Reed signing his contract with the Green Bay Packers Wednesday evening. No details were initially announced.

Reed was selected by the Packers with the 50th overall pick in the second round of this year’s draft. Along with fellow second-round pick Luke Musgrave — a tight end out of Oregon State –, Reed was selected to provide some offensive firepower as the team transitions to Jordan Love as starting quarterback.

Reed performed well during his 3 seasons with the Spartans, finishing with just over 2,000 yards receiving while at Michigan State. His best season came in 2021 when Reed averaged 17.4 yards per catch with 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also showed strong flashes as a returner and with the ball in his hands in the open field.

We’ll see how Reed performs to begin his NFL career, but he has the kind of skill set that could lend itself to be utilized in a number of ways by the Packers.
