Former Michigan star tight end Jake Butt has retired from the NFL.
Butt enjoyed a great career with the Wolverines which culminated in winning the Mackey Award in 2016. He was a four-year contributor for Michigan, finishing his collegiate career with 1,646 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
However, he wasn’t able to stay healthy in the NFL. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos and eventually made the team. However, he missed the entirety of the 2017 and 2019 seasons due to injury.
He recently signed a contract with the Chicago Bears, but ultimate decided to hang up his cleats.
