A former Michigan State defensive back has made his transfer commitment choice.

Tate Hallock, a redshirt junior, announced Monday that he would commit to Western Michigan after spending four years with the Spartans.

A Grand Rapids, Michigan, native is staying in his home state and will have the chance to play even closer to his hometown. Hallock wasn’t a huge part of Michigan State’s team in his time with the Spartans, but he spent a lot of time on special teams, mostly on kickoffs, and recorded 4 tackles last season.

Hallock joins a team that has struggled recently but has shown some signs of growth. The Broncos are coming off a 5-7 season, but the addition of Hallock could be big for Western Michigan.

Best of luck to Hallock as he makes the move to Western Michigan.
