Former Nebraska, 4-star WR announces Maryland as transfer destination

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost has recruited a group of athletes out of Florida who have all left Lincoln for one reason or another and Marcus Fleming, a former 4-star wide receiver out of Miami’s mighty Northwestern High School, has become the latest to pick up stakes and go.
Fleming announced he would be transferring to the University of Maryland in College Park, a program that has been on a recruiting hot streak lately thanks to defensive line coach Brian Williams. Fleming is the Terrapins first transfer pick up for the 2021 season.
Fleming posted a graphic on Twitter announcing the move, writing, “I love everything about this place,” followed by a turtle, or terrapin, emoji, and, the declaration: “time to work.”

Set to be a sophomore next season, Fleming was the 44th ranked receiver and 259th ranked overall player in the country in 2020. He is considered a super fast, super quick deep ball threat with the ability to run after and make defenders miss after the coach. Maryland is stacked with talented wide receivers to go along with emerging, and potential star, quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.
Fleming caught five balls for 75 yards for the Cornhuskers against Northwestern on Nov. 7, leading the team in both categories, but did not play again the rest of the season for reasons that were not divulged by the University of Nebraska.
