Banton’s length, athleticism and versatility have landed him a chance in the NBA after one season with the Huskers. While in Lincoln, he averaged 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per contest.
Despite a lack of eye-popping numbers, his 6-foot-9 frame paired with guard skills was enticing enough to the Raptors for them to spend the No. 46 overall pick on him in the 2021 NBA Draft.
He’s been impressive in Summer League for the Raptors, too. Here’s a couple highlights:

Banton is likely to spend some time with Toronto’s G-League affiliate this season, but it’s possible the Raptors could use his defensive versatility at some point this season.
The 2021-22 NBA season begins on Oct. 19.
