Bill Cowher was an NFL player from 1979-84. However, he is more known for being the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After spending the next seven seasons as a special teams coach, defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator, he took over as the head man of the Steelers in 1992. His final year came in 2006.

Cowher won 161 games and lost just 99 while winning a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh. Many consider him to be one of the best coaches of all time.

On Saturday, that thought was essentially confirmed as such. On live television, while Cowher worked as an NFL analyst on CBS, he was surprised by David Baker, the President of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Cowher’s reaction to the news of him becoming the newest member of the Hall of Fame is perfect:

Congratulations, coach Cowher. You deserve it.
