Godwin Igwebuike, a four-year standout defensive back for the Wildcats, was claimed by the New York Jets on Sunday.

Igwebuike played at Northwestern from 2014-17 and recorded 324 tackles over his career, including a career-high 108 tackles in 2016. He added 12.5 TFL and seven interceptions. Igwebeuike helped lead the Wildcats to a pair of 10-win seasons during his time in school.

He appeared in six games in 2018 between Tampa Bay and San Francisco. Igwebuike had been with Philadelphia but was released on Saturday. Now he will get a shot to find his spot with the Jets.

Jeremy Clark, a Michigan DB from 2014-16, was waived to make room on the roster.
