Former Northwestern football player robbed at gunpoint, per police report

Former Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome and Cleveland Browns teammate Perrion Winfrey were reportedly robbed at gunpoint by 6 masked men early Monday morning. This stems from a police report on the situation.
According to ESPN’s Jake Trotter, the names of the players were first redacted in the original police report, but a team source confirmed it was Newsome and Winfrey. Neither were hurt in the incident.
Newsome’s truck was stolen in the robbery, as well as jewelry from both players. Police are still working to locate the stolen vehicle as of Wednesday morning.
Two Browns players were robbed at gunpoint by six masked men, according to a police report.
A team source confirmed the two players were Greg Newsome II and Perrion Winfrey. Neither were harmed during the incident.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski addressed the robbery Tuesday following the start of Cleveland’s mandatory minicamp.
“I’m glad our guys are OK. … We want everybody to be safe and we want to get violent people off of our streets,” Stefanski said Tuesday, via ESPN.
