Former Northwestern WR Ben Skowronek to miss extended time following surgery

Rams rookie wide receiver Ben Skowronek is going to miss some time after undergoing surgery on his arm.
It was announced on Wednesday afternoon during Sean McVay’s media availability and Skowronek is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. He previously fractured his forearm in Saturday’s action.
Skowronek was fighting for a roster spot during the time of the injury so this has to be a backbreaker for him as the season is just a few weeks away. He won’t be able to play in the Rams’ last couple of preseason games, as that’s the key point of emphasis for a player to make a 53-man roster.

Before Skowronek was drafted, he spent 4 years with Northwestern before playing with Notre Dame during his 5th year. He had 110 receptions for 1,417 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns while he was with the Wildcats. His best season with them came during his sophomore season in 2017 when he had 644 yards receiving on 45 catches with 5 touchdowns.
He still put up good numbers with the Fighting Irish as well in 2020. He finished the season with 29 receptions for 439 yards and 5 touchdowns.
