Norwell played at Ohio State from 2010-to-2013, capping his Buckeye career with back-to-back first-team All-B1G honors. Norwell was not drafted in 2014, but has played in 128 NFL regular-season games, making 127 starts.
The Carolina Panthers signed Norwell as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Norwell not only made the team, but cracked the starting lineup in Week 7 of his rookie season. Norwell remained with the Panthers through the 2017 season, earning first-team All-Pro honors.
Following his time with the Panthers, Norwell signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the 2018 season. He dealt with injuries during his time with the Jaguars.
The Commanders signed Norwell to a 2-year contract ahead of the 2022 season. He made 16 starts during the 2022 campaign.
Norwell had been on the physically unable to perform list due to an elbow injury prior to his release. We’ll see what’s next for Norwell.
