It didn’t take long for Jeff Hafley to record his first career win as a head coach at the college level.
On Saturday afternoon, Boston College defeated Duke 26-6, giving Hafley his first victory as a head coach. It was also his first game as the team’s head coach, with the Eagles opening their season this weekend.
Boston College held a 7-6 advantage at halftime and used a 16-point third quarter to get some separation from the Blue Devils. The Eagles tacked on an additional field goal in the fourth quarter to close out the 20-point victory.

Hafley was the defensive coordinator at Ohio State during the 2019 season. After transforming the Buckeye defense into one of the best in the country last year, Hafley received the opportunity to become the head coach at Boston College.
Obviously BC is just one game into the season, but it hasn’t taken Hafley long to find success. We’ll see if the Eagles can build off their first victory of the 2020 season, as they take on Texas State next Saturday.
