Johnathan Hankins will get another chance to show what he can do in the NFL.
The Oakland Raiders announced Thursday they have signed the former Ohio State DL. Hankins arrives in Oakland after spending one season with the Indianapolis Colts following a four-year stint with the New York Giants.
Hankins has been a productive player in the NFL. He has 56 starts in his career with 12 sacks and 184 total tackles. Now he will look to contribute along the front of Oakland’s defense. Hankins finished his OSU career with 16.5 TFL and 5 sacks.
While Hankins received some good news this week, the same cannot be said for former MSU DE Shilique Calhoun. The Raiders announced Wednesday that they have waived the former Spartans star and third-round selection. Calhoun had 44 TFL and 27 sacks during his collegiate career, but he has yet to become a consistent contributor in the NFL.
