Heyward has been in the league a while, going on Year No. 13 with the Steelers after being drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He’s a 6-time Pro Bowler and a 3-time All-Pro as recently as 2021. He reached the Pro Bowl last season.
This is a massive blow to a Steelers squad that was thoroughly embarrassed by the Niners Sunday. San Francisco rushed for 188 yards and 1 touchdown against a Steelers front that is now expected to get worse down one of their top players.
