Former Ohio State guard DJ Carton announces transfer destination

Former Ohio State guard DJ Carton has made a decision regarding his future on the basketball court. He made his transfer destination decision on Wednesday night.
In a post on Twitter, Carton announced that he will be transferring to Marquette to continue his basketball and academic career. He leaves Columbus after spending one season with the Buckeyes. Carton initially announced his desire to transfer out following the 2019-20 season.

Carton took a leave of absence from Ohio State’s basketball program late in the season, citing mental health as the reason behind his decision. He received full support from head coach Chris Holtmann and his teammates, but the guard decided it was in his best interest to leave the program following the season.
As a freshman, Carton averaged 10.4 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game, while shooting at a 47.7 percent clip from the floor. He played in 20 games for the Buckeyes last season, and averaged just under 24 minutes per contest.
