This doesn’t come as a huge surprise because when he was asked about Jones injury following the game, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski had this to say.
“On the injury front with Dawand, he has a fracture in his leg,” Stefanski said. “That will require surgery, so that will end his season.”
Jones played 4 seasons at Ohio State from 2019-2022, and he was named second-team All-Big 10 team in 2021 and 2022. He was drafted by the Browns with the 111th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In his rookie season, he was quickly put into the lineup after right tackle Jack Conklin suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2. Jones made an instant impact by starting 9 of the team’s next 11 games at right tackle before he was suffered the injury on Sunday.
He started the first 5 games this season at right tackle but was moved to left tackle in Week 8 against the Ravens.
