Ohio State gave an incredible effort, but came up just short on Saturday night in Arizona.

The Buckeyes fell 29-23 to Clemson in the Fiesta, ending the season with a 13-1 record and a game short of playing for a national championship. Despite a hot start, building a 16-0 lead in the first half, Ohio State made too many mental mistakes in the second half and couldn’t hold on for the win.

After the game came to an end, several former Ohio State stars weighed in on the game. More than anything, those former players were proud of the effort they saw at State Farm Stadium:

Ohio State ends the season with a B1G title and its first appearance in the College Football Playoff since 2016. They finished in the top five nationally in both offensive and defensive production and defeated Michigan for an eighth-straight year.

While the loss to Clemson certainly hurts, it was still an outstanding season from the Buckeyes.
