Former Ohio State quarterback Air Noland is in the transfer portal and checking out his destinations. Now, he’s reportedly lined up to take a visit to the SEC.
South Carolina is preparing to take on Illinois in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Ahead of that game, the Gamecocks are doing some work in the transfer portal.
Per reports, South Carolina will welcome in former Noland, a Georgia native, for a visit. The QB entered the portal on Dec. 16 after spending 1 season in Columbus.

Noland didn’t see any game action in 2024 so the QB will have 4 years of eligibility remaining for whichever school he chooses.
Before heading to Columbus, Noland starred for Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, GA. The QB was rated as a 4-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite ranking and was the No. 4 QB and No. 8 prospect out of Georgia in the 2024 class. Before committing to Ohio State, Noland received interest from Alabama, Arkansas, and Clemson, among others.
Interestingly, QB doesn’t seem to be a need for the Gamecocks. In 2024, LaNorris Sellers starred for the Gamecocks in his freshman season, throwing for 2,274 yards and rushing for 655 more. If the Gamecocks land Noland, Shane Beamer and his staff may be hoping Noland can learn from Sellers as both QBs can make plays with their legs.
So far, the Gamecocks have added 4 players via the portal while seeing 13 players enter. QB Robby Ashford is 1 of the 13 Gamecocks in the portal, so that could explain the team’s reported interest in Noland.
The Gamecocks will kick off against the Illini on New Year’s Eve at 3:00 p.m. ET.
