Former Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is on a hot streak for the Seattle Seahawks. Entering Sunday, the Ohio State product has a streak of 2 straight games with 100+ receiving yards.

Against the Cardinals, Smith-Njigba is trying to make it 3 in a row. With time running down in the 2nd quarter, Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks were trailing 3-0.

The talented WR then caught a 46-yard pass to put the Seahawks in striking distance. Just a couple of plays later, Smith-Njigba caught a 3-yard TD pass to put the Seahawks on top.

The score was Smith-Njigba’s 4th of the season. Entering Sunday, Smith-Njigba had 60 catches for 678 yards and 3 TDs. That yardage total is already higher than the WR’s entire rookie season total.

Smith-Njigba entered the NFL in 2023 as one of Ohio State’s all-time first-round NFL Draft picks. The Seahawks used the 20th overall pick to grab Smith-Njigba.

The WR starred for Ohio State from 2020-22 and caught 109 passes for 1,691 yards and 10 TDs over 22 games. In 2021, Smith-Njigba was a Third-team All-American and a Third-team All-Big Ten selection.

With 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter on Sunday, the Seahawks had a 13-3 lead over the division rival Cardinals. Smith-Njigba had 4 catches for 62 yards and 1 TD to that point, needing 38 yards to keep his 100-yard streak going.

Smith-Njigba’s Seahawks entered the game with a 5-5 record and are fully in the mix for a playoff spot in the NFC.
