Holmes was a productive wideout for Jim Tressel during his time in Columbus. The star receiver led the Buckeyes with 977 receiving yards in 2005, including 11 receiving touchdowns to lead the Big Ten that season. He also led Ohio State in receiving during the 2004 season.
At the time of wrapping up his career, Holmes was 5th on the all-time receiving list for the Buckeyes. He still ranks 10th in OSU history with 2,295 yards and 6th with 25 receiving touchdowns.
After his time in Columbus, Holmes became one of the first-round draft picks from Ohio State, ultimately being selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 25th overall pick. He would spend 9 years in the NFL, including 4 with the Steelers, helping the franchise win Super Bowl XLIII. Holmes would earn Super Bowl MVP honors after 9 catches for 131 yards and 1 touchdown.
