Former Penn State receiver KJ Hamler had a solid rookie season last year, and is looking to build off that momentum in 2021.

So far, so good, according to teammate Jerry Jeudy.

Jeudy, who was drafted out of Alabama one round ahead of Hamler in the 2020 NFL Draft, said he thinks the former Nittany Lion has gotten noticeably “bigger and stronger” this offseason.

“KJ’s doing good,” Jeudy told reporters on Tuesday. “I feel like he’s gotten a lot bigger and a lot stronger. He’s being more confident in knowing all of the plays. I feel like he’s been doing good this year. Just progressing each and every day.”

Last season, Hamler caught 30 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns. He also made a game-winning catch at the buzzer to defeat the Chargers last November.

With this being his first full offseason with coaches and teammates due to COVID-19, Hamler could be in position to make a major leap in Year 2. The Broncos should be better at quarterback, too — either with a healthy Drew Lock or veteran journeyman Teddy Bridgewater under center.

It’s worth noting Hamler didn’t practice on Tuesday with a minor hamstring injury, but coach Vic Fangio said the team is just “being cautious.”

Denver opens the 2021 season against the New York Giants on Sept. 12.
