Logan Ryan made it official, announcing a “Christmas Morning we’ll never forget” on Twitter Friday.

The safety for the New York Giants and former Rutgers star reached an agreement on a contract extension Christmas Day. Ryan confirmed the deal is for three years to remain in New York:

Ryan also retweeted Ian Rapoport’s report that the contract includes $20 million guaranteed. That is quite the payday for Ryan after agreeing to a one-year deal for 2020:

Ryan has appeared in 14 games with 13 starts this season, posting 83 total tackles and an interception while serving as New York’s free safety. He has also defended nine passes and forced three fumbles with an additional fumble recovery.

Ryan set career-high marks in 2019 with 113 tackles, 4.5 sacks, eight QB hits, and 18 passes defended. Unhappy with the long-term offers coming off of that season, Ryan took a one-year deal and showed what he can do with the Giants defense. Now, he has the type of Christmas present you reallwant, though there’s no denying Ryan earned every bit of this present.

During his career with the Scarlet Knights, Ryan had 170 total tackles, 11.5 TFL, and seven interceptions. Best of luck to him as he continues his NFL career in New York!
