A former Scarlet Knights defensive back signed with the New York Jets Tuesday.
Marcus Cooper, a six-year NFL veteran, signed with the Jets just one day after being cut by the Detroit Lions. He returns to the northeast region after playing at Rutgers from 2009-12.
Cooper recorded 88 tackles and an interception during his career with the Scarlet Knights. He was a key contributor on nine-win teams in 2011-12, the last two times Rutgers reached the nine-win plateau.
Cooper has 36 passes defended and seven interceptions in his NFL career. Hopefully, he will make an impact with New York in 2019.
We've signed CB Marcus Cooper and waived TE Nick Truesdell.
