DiNovo has added thrown just nine passes in four years at UCF, so he doesn’t bring a ton of game experience to Champaign. However, Lovie Smith benched starter Chayce Crouch during Illinois’ game against South Florida and inserted Jeff George, Jr. Neither gunslinger has proven much early in the season.
It’ll be interesting to see if DiNovo works his way under center for the Illini at any point this season.
