It took a few months, but Trevon Sidney is officially a member of Illinois’ roster for the 2019 season.

Jeremy Werner of Illini Inquirer reported on Monday that Sidney — who transferred from USC — has officially been added to Illinois’ roster. The junior receiver will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer and will be able to suit up for two years in Champaign.

Sidney is one of three former Trojans to be added to Illinois’ roster, joining defensive end Oluwole Betiku Jr. and wide receiver Josh Imatorbhebhe. Sidney provides the Illini with depth and talent at the wide receiver position.

During his sophomore season at USC, Sidney hauled in seven receptions for 104 yards. He’s a former four-star prospect and had several big-time offers out of high school, including Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Washington and Wisconsin.

Illinois opens the 2019 season on Aug. 31 at home against Akron.
