Former Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was killed on Sunday night in a car accident, according to multiple reports. He was 36.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport was one of many to report the news on Monday morning. Jackson had a 10-year NFL career with the Vikings, Seahawks and Buffalo Bills after finishing his college football career at Alabama State. He was working as the quarterbacks coach at Tennessee State.

The fatal crash occurred in Alabama.

Jackson was a former second-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He started 20 career games in his first five seasons in Minnesota. He then had the best season of his career in Seattle, when he started 14 games, throwing for 3,091 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2011.

After his NFL career concluded in 2015, he was making a transition into coaching. He was a quality control and quarterbacks coach at Alabama State in 2018 before moving to Tennessee State.
