T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers have been negotiating for months to get a deal done, and last week the 26-year old former Wisconsin Badger officially signed a five-year deal with Pittsburgh to become the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player.

And Watt is already showing why.

One of the only highlights for Pittsburgh in the first half of their opener against the Buffalo Bills, saw the 2020 First-Team All-Pro chase down Bills quarterback Josh Allen, and finish the play with a strip-sack that was recovered by the Steelers.

The Pittsburgh offense was unfortunately able to capitalize on the play, but on the stat-sheet the Steelers defense has now recorded a sack in 74 games in a row.

In addition to the All-Pro selection, Watt led the NFL in sacks during the 2020 season. He was a first-round pick of the Steelers in 2017 following a tremendous 2016 season at Wisconsin where he totaled 11.5 sacks.
