Four players who were previously suspended by Illinois head coach Lovie Smith are expected to make their return on Friday night against Penn State.
Prior to the Illini’s B1G opener against Penn State, Jeremy Werner of Illini Inquirer tweeted out that Bennett Williams, Nate Hobbs, Lou Dorsey and Carmoni Green were all working out in team warmups prior to kickoff. All four are expected to see the field against the Nittany Lions.

Williams and Hobbs are defensive backs for the Illini. Dorsey is a tight end and Green is a wide receiver. All four players were suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules.
The four players were suspended prior to Illinois’ Week 1 matchup against Kent State. They were suspended indefinitely.
Friday’s matchup serves as the home opener for both Illinois and Penn State. The Illini come in at 2-1 while the Lions are a perfect 3-0.
