Four Wolverines reportedly now on scholarship

Fall camp is the time of year where coaches decide to hand out scholarships to hard-working walk-ons.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh may not make viral scholarship videos a la Minnesota’s P.J. Fleck, but that doesn’t mean the head Wolverine lets unused scholarships go to waste. On Saturday, long-snapper Cam Cheeseman announced on Twitter that he had been awarded a scholarship by the staff. According to Wolverines Wire, three more UM players – WR Nate Schoenle, OL Andrew Vastardis and RB Tru Wilson – have received scholarships.
Schoenle recorded four catches for 41 yards last season. While not a starter, Vastardis should see some action off the bench this fall. Wilson has reportedly emerged as RB3 behind Chris Evans and Karan Higdon.
This spring, former walk-on RB Joe Hewlett also received a scholarship.
I am proud to announce that I have been put on scholarship at the University of Michigan! Huge thanks to all my family, friends, and coaches for everything they have done! Go Blue! 〽️
