Imagine if Alabama quarterback Bryce Young had three Ohio State wide receivers instead of just one (transfer Jameson Williams). FOX college football analyst Brady Quinn tweeted that thought over the weekend.
Seriously.
Quinn tossed out the ridiculous statement on Twitter, as if Alabama has never had talent. Here was the exact quote from the FOX analyst:
Imagine the stats @_bryce_young would be putting up if had 3 @OhioStateFB WR’s instead of just one. 🤔 #Heisman

As expected, the former Notre Dame quarterback is getting blitzed for his tweet. Plenty of fans of Ohio State, as well as others across the college football landscape, chimed in:
Have you paid attention to Alabama's recruiting over the past 10+ years? Alabama is hardly hurting for talent.

Today I learned Bama doesnt have 5 star talent all over the field. Olave is a 3 star btw

This is a joke of a statement. I’ve never heard this argument in any other year until now.

2018 Kyler Murray: Marquise Brown (first round), CeeDee Lamb (first round).
2019 Joe Burrow: Ja’Marr Chase (first round), Justin Jefferson (first round), Terrace Marshall (second round).
Didn’t matter then… https://t.co/kKF5xhTpv6

This would be a funny joke if it was a joke. If it's serious, then it's nonsense. As if Bama doesn't have top recruiting classes all the time. https://t.co/5vaLCe1EhS

Don’t remember these kinds of takes for Joe Burrow … 🤔 #Heisman https://t.co/4TSpreIciW

Bryce Young has played in 40 quarters out of a possible 44 this year.
CJ Stroud has only played 36 quarters.
Bryce has only throw for 116 yards and 2 more TDs than CJ.
4th quarter last Saturday against 7-4 Arkansas Bryce threw for 80 yards and a TD.
CJ didn’t play the 4th https://t.co/1BmzISBv4y

You know, I’ve always thought to myself, “how does anyone play QB at Alabama?” Such a tough place to get numbers and wins🙄 https://t.co/fACOAeSBkq

Young is considered the Heisman Trophy frontrunner for most of the season as he’s thrown for 3,584 yards, 38 touchdowns and only three interceptions for the third-ranked Crimson Tide (10-1). In Saturday’s win over Arkansas, the sophomore passed for a school-record 561 yards, five TDs and zero picks.
Williams leads the SEC in receiving yards (1,218) and TD catches (13) in his first season after the junior joined Alabama following two years with the Buckeyes.
Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud is regarded as the other top Heisman contender. The redshirt freshman has passed for 3,468 yards, 36 scores and only five interceptions this season for the second-ranked Buckeyes (10-1). Stroud threw for 432 yards and six TDs in last Saturday’s blowout of Michigan State.
