If there is any indication that fans are excited for the 2021 college football after a COVID-filled 2020 season, it would be television ratings.

The viewership for college football games on FOX is up 41% over 2019. That includes two huge numbers for Tulsa-Ohio State and Nebraska-Oklahoma in Week 3:

The B1G Noon Kickoff had 1,187,000 viewers, which is 29% over 2019’s week 3 performance. The Ohio State versus Tulsa on FS1 gathered an average of 1,831,000 viewers, up 245% over the week 3 2019’s B1G Ten Saturday matchup on FS1.

The game for Ohio State versus Tulsa featured a close matchup throughout the game. It took all four quarters for Ohio State to defeat Tulsa 41-20.

Nebraska fought Oklahoma hard, but ultimately came up short of pulling off the upset in Norman.

This ratings trend is line with what we’ve already seen this season. Ohio State’s Week 1 contest with Minnesota was also a huge ratings hit.
