Fox College Football analyst RJ Young updated his top 25 teams following Week 1 and 6 B1G teams cracked the list.

The top 2 teams on the list were Georgia and Alabama. The B1G had 2 teams in the top 10 and a total of 3 teams in the top 15.

Here was Young’s B1G rankings on his top 25 list:

  • 3. Ohio State
  • 6. Michigan State
  • 15. Minnesota
  • 17. Michigan
  • 18. Iowa
  • 24. Wisconsin

Ohio State came in right behind Georgia and Alabama following the 11-point win over Notre Dame in Columbus. This could turn out to be a win that will help Ohio State at the end of the season in the Playoff picture and in Young’s future top 25 rankings.

Michigan State just missed out on a top 5 placement, while Minnesota stepped into a top 15 ranking. Young’s decision to put Michigan at No. 17, which was only 1 spot higher than No. 18 Iowa could cause some issues. In the preseason, Young left out Michigan in his preseason top 25 rankings.

Iowa held on to a 7-3 win over South Dakota State. It was surprising to see a lack of offensive output from the Hawkeyes on Saturday. Wisconsin rounded out the 6 B1G teams in Young’s top 25 with a No. 24 ranking. Wisconsin blanked Illinois State, 38-0, in the season opener.

It will be interesting to see how Young’s list changes throughout the season.
