Robert Smith took a leap. The FOX Sports analyst went out on a limb, choosing Texas to reach the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.
That bold prediction probably isn’t going to work out though. Not after the Longhorns dropped their season opener to Maryland on Saturday afternoon.
Smith made the bold prediction a week ago, saying “I like them Horns, baby!” He had Texas in the Final Four along with Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State.
As you might imagine, Twitter torched the analyst for his bold prediction once the Terrapins finished off the upset.

Robert, I just wanted to congratulate you on joining our guy @Joey_Galloway with one of the worst preseason predictions ever. Last year he picked Baylor to win Big 12, this year you took Texas. Both were equally awful picks. Never doubt Oklahoma! #BoomerSooner
