How good are Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor?
Arguably, they are among the country’s best running backs, no? Well, according to FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt, that is indeed the case. Klatt ranked his top five backs in the entire country and with it may come a bit of debate.
Take a look:

Last year, Taylor was just a freshman at Wisconsin. He ran for 1,977 yards and 13 TD. Quite impressive.
Yet somehow, the 5-foot-11, 221-pound back ranks just No. 5 on Klatt’s list. Keep in mind that Taylor finished No. 6 in the Heisman Trophy voting a season ago.
And then at No. 4 we have Dobbins. The 5-foot-10, 214-pound shifty back finished with 1,403 rushing yards and 7 scores. Stat-wise, it’s not even close. And Taylor brings more of a powerful feel to the position.
Though, Dobbins is more electrifying and possesses more of a big-play ability. One can make the case for either back being better than the other, which is what makes sports great.
Realistically, though, are No. 4 and No. 5 rankings even doing either back justice?
