FOX Sports and the Big Ten Conference have announced that Francois McGillicuddy will become President, Big Ten Network, beginning in early 2019.
McGillicuddy will take over day-to-day operations for Mark Silverman, who was promoted to President, National Networks, FOX Sports. McGillicuddy is a seasoned veteran as a media executive.
Big Ten Network is a joint venture between FOX Sports and the Big Ten Conference.
The announcement of McGillicuddy’s promotion was made by Eric Shanks, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Producer, FOX Sports and Jim Delany, Commissioner, Big Ten Conference.
McGillicuddy has 20 years of experience as a media executive. He’s currently the Senior Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports Ohio and SportsTime Ohio.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the Big Ten Network, and to remain within the FOX family,” said McGillicuddy. “BTN established itself as one of the strongest networks in all of sports. I look forward to building upon that in the years ahead.”
