Frank Reich lauds over Parris Campbell’s performance in Colts camp

There may be a lot of teams regretting they didn’t take former Ohio State receiver Parris Campbell when they had the chance. Already, he’s proving he’s worth the hype.
Campbell, who was selected with the 59th overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the NFL Draft, is receiving some high praise from his new head coach Frank Reich. The former Buckeye’s early camp performance demonstrates that he can be a big-time playmaker in the NFL.
“What he did in the red zone today — the two plays he made in the red zone today weren’t hybrid, gadget, slot receiver type plays. They were legit, NFL I’m-gonna-be-a-stud-receiver plays,” Reich said of Campbell. “Ran two phenomenal routes, made two big plays in the red zone.”

He hasn’t played an NFL snap yet, but already there’s plenty of hype around Campbell. Not only is he turning heads in fall camp, he’s projected to be the “breakout fantasy star,” according to CBS SportsLine.
That’s a pretty good look for a rookie receiver.
Campbell comes to the Colts after leading Ohio State in receiving last fall. He finished his final season in Columbus with 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns on 90 receptions. The ex-Buckeye may not get as many targets as he did a year ago, but he’s already earning the trust of his head coach.
It’s not a bad start to his NFL career.
