On Monday afternoon, Glass held a press conference. Here are some of the highlights of what he had to say:

“I wont’ be retiring totally, I will be retiring from Indiana and retiring as an athletic director,” Glass said. “Now I’m ready to step back and do something a little more flexible. I came here to try to re-establish a strong foundation with Indiana athletics, and I feel that we have done that. Now, it’s time for me to exit stage left. This feels really right. I have no regrets.”
Glass also said his hand was forced a little bit in terms of the announcement of his timing because of head football coach Tom Allen’s contract extension. He wanted to let Allen know of his plans.
It seems as though Glass wanted to wait to let people know that he was going to no longer be the AD. However, since Allen’s contract was being extended, he didn’t want to leave Allen in the dark.
